Renowned DJ A-Trak and artist savant Dust La Rock present Grateful Bear, an ice-cold player notorious for trippy parties in his psychedelic igloo. Grateful Bear stands 8-inches tall and steps on the scene with tons of swag, including a gold-plated necklace, leather cuff, cotton sweatband, snow-capped igloo, fitted baseball hat, and wayfarers. Only 500 were produced, available now through Kid Robot.

In an interesting project Berlin based jewelry designer Sabrina Dehoff gets together with Nike to work on a series of sneaker jewelry. We have to admit, when we first heard about it, we thought about some new lace-locks and maybe some lace jewelry and were not very excited. When we saw the results of the collection though, everything changed. Dehoff being a high fashion designer, has a completely new perspective on the subject matter and created something very innovative for both men and women. Styled around the Nike Air Max 1 she embraced different parts of the sneaker and added her own touch with her jewelry.

We had the chance to talk to her about this unique collaboration and of course we have lots of images to show you from the collection.

Those who are fortunate enough to see Visvim’s lookbook in person knows that each is call a “dissertation” – a handsomely bound, hard cover book instead of the usual fare.  You will not find any insufficiency in it, instead gorgeous and extensive articles in both English and Japanese.  Because just as the title suggested, to Visvim’s Creative Director Hiroki Nakamura, each season’s collection is a tried and true process of experiences and education.  And much like a dissertation for a doctoral degree, each collection is base Nakamura-san’s thesis and inspiration, as well as the procedures of design and production.

Dutch artist Parra touch has made it on to three sneaker brands this summer. The Vans x Parra collection is now available at select shops while the Nike Air Maxim 1 x Parra will release latter on in the year. The third in the mix is a pair of Converse Chuck Taylor High, the kicks are known as “Simply the Wurst”. The kicks are ultra limited with a mere 100 pairs produced and ultra exclusive as they are a gift to attendees of BBQ in Berlin.

The last few days Gorilli was in Paris for Capsule and some business meetings. On the route to Capsule we stopped for a rendezvous with Acne. We were surprised in a good way to see that the brand known for its super jeans had a full collection of interesting pieces, that will most likely be on many peoples towantlist next year. Our highlights were the parka M-6d styled jacket, the easytogo Acne pop collection, chinoos/jeans, and nice footwear.

De laatste paar dagen zat Gorilli in Parijs om wat zaken te regelen en de Capsule beurs te bezoeken. Capsule is een kleine beurs voor een select groepje van relatief nieuwe vooruitstrevende labels. Op de weg naar Capsule hadden we een rendezvous met Acne. Die had meer dan jeans te bieden, want we hebben erg lang zitten genieten van een uitgebreide collectie die hoge ogen zal gooien volgend jaar. Interessant was ook de betaalbaardere Acne pop collectie. Hoogtepunten waren verder de parka jas in paars, chinoos/jeans, en een eigen schoenen collectie.

This is what we know so far: The MICKEY BRAND HALO show is apparently scheduled to launch on the 29th of June @ Times Square, Hong Kong. Organized by 3-MIX & Disney Asia, the show features a select list of international artists invited to work on a 12 inch tall blank Mickey Mouse vinyl figure (made by 3-MIX / last seen in 2008 as a production series from Kennyswork). The show is said to exhibit thru August 2nd 2009.

What remains a “mystery” still, is the intent / content of the show, and for what particular activity it is related to, as well as the complete list of participating artists (which sources mention numbered 50 deep - as yet confirmed). And if indeed the “Times Square” mentioned is the “Times Square Mall” located at Causeway Bay, HK (hey, I do try to do my own research, yeh? ;p) = please do snap + send pics (if you happen to be there) and/or send word of it’s existence? Appreciate it!

What is NOT a mystery though, are these select few custom-Mickeys featured on TRE thus far! Showcasing a wide spectrum of styles and varied refreshing interpretations of the iconic classic cartoon character = CLICK THRU for a visual over-view or CLICK for coverage of “Mickey Brand Halo” on TRE (which includes Q&As for a number of works). And hopefully more details of the show will surface, for everyone not in HK to view the customs, to enjoy and share in the show
